Scientists have found what may be the world’s biggest pockmarks structures on the seafloor off the east coast of New Zealand. The crater-like structures are likely to have been caused by a violent eruption of gas through the sediments into the ocean. The largest pockmark found could engulf lower Manhattan or Wellington, the capital city of New Zealand - this image shows the 11km by 6km crater laid over Wellington.
