With an average depth of 4,000m (falling to almost 11km in the Mariana Trench), the deep sea is our final frontier. Very few people have experienced it firsthand, and although most of the creatures that live there are still unknown to us, our activities are having a major impact on the ecosystem. Can we protect this unique environment before it is too late?
