A team of researchers has created ‘nanosponges’ capable of soaking up a broad class of toxins from the bloodstream, including those produced by antibiotic-resistant bacteria, poisonous snakes and bees. The extremely small sponges have so far been studied in mice, the image shows their schematic structure.
