A beautiful blossom encapsulated in ice

Some species of aster are frost resistant and can hang on well into the late autumn, surviving the first few frosts. This image, titled “Forever autumn”, was taken by Jeff Abbas and is one of the top ten winners of the Let it Snow photo competition organised by NASA'S Global Precipitation Measure mission.
