Dr Robert G. Edwards

Dr Robert G. Edwards, considered the father of human in vitro fertilization, has passed away. Edwards started working on an infertility treatment in the 1950s, and more than 20 years later, on July 25, 1978, the first test-tube baby was born. Thanks to Edwards’ breakthrough, more than 4 million children have been born using this technique. In 2010, he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Medicine for the development of IVF
